(+) Automotive: Operational leasing of LCVs may be permitted The President of TOKKDER (Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association of Turkey) and Leaseplan General Manager Turkay Oktay stated that the General Directorate of Highways is working on a draft regulation that may allow operational leasing of commercial vehicles. Oktay continued that Turkey is the only country that bans leasing of commercial vehicles and the new amendment, if materializes, may grow the fleet rental business by 25-30%. Currently, the rental vehicle car park in Turkey is estimated at 330,000 units and this is almost totally comprised of passenger cars according to TOKKDER while annual vehicles purchases by the sector is estimated to have reached 147,000 units in 2016. If the new amendment allows operational leasing of LCVs, we think the LCV market which was at 227,000 units in 2016,  may grow very fast and this should be positive for Ford Otosan, Tofas and Dogus Otomotiv.

Otomotiv: TOKKDER Başkanı’nın açıklamalarına göre Karayolları ticari araçların kiralanmasına izin verecek yeni bir düzenleme üzerine çalışıyor. Şu anda Türkiye’de ticari araçların kiralanmasına izin verilmemekte olup, buna izin veren yeni bir düzenleme gelmesi durumunda ticari araç üretilceri olan Ford Otosan, Tofas ve ticari araç ithalatçısı olan Dogus Otomotiv için pozitif olacaktır.
