Turkey imposed additional tariffs on some import products from US / Slightly Positive for Petkim The aforementioned products mostly consist of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, cars, cosmetics, paper related products and some chemicals- inc. PVC. Among the listed companies, Petkim could be directly impacted from the new tariffs as a sole PVC producer in Turkey. New additional tariffs on PVC imports from US will be 50%.  Turkey imports annually c.840k tons of PVC where c.14% of it is imported from US. Petkim is the sole PVC producer in Turkey with its total production capacity of 150k tons that is almost working at full capacity.  However, the revenue generation from PVC sales comprises only 8% of Petkim’s total sales. Considering the limited weight of PVC in total mix and potentially lower impact of higher tariffs on the domestic prices, we deem the news to be only slightly positive for Petkim.

Türkiye bazı ABD ihlat ürünlerine ek vergi koydu Bahsi geçen ürünler ağırlıklı olarak alkollü içecekler, tütün ürünleri, arabalar, kozmetik ürünleri, kağıt ürünleri ve bazı kimyasal ürünlerden oluşuyor. Kimyasal ürünler arasında PVC’de bulunuyor. Türkiye toplam PVC ihtiyacının yaklaşık 72%’ini ithal ederken, bu miktarın 13%’ü ABD’den ithal ediliyor. Türkiye’nin tek PVC üretici olarak Petkim ise yaklaşık tam kapasite çalışan tesisinden toplam gelirlerinin sadece 8%’ini elde ediyor. Bu nedenle haberi sınırlı pozitif olarak değerlendiriyoruz.
